I’m currently a guest in Tiohtià:ke on the traditional and unceded territory of the Kanien’kehà:ka (Mohawk) Nation. These lands have been cared for by the Kanien’kehá:ka people for thousands of years, long before the arrival of settlers, and their continued stewardship of the land benefits all who reside here.
I feel grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and collaborate on this land, and I commit to being an ally in the movement for climate justice, reconciliation, and decolonization. Indigenous sovereignty is fundamental to climate justice, and it’s our responsibility to listen, learn, and stand in solidarity with the ongoing efforts of Indigenous communities across Turtle Island as we strive to create a more just and sustainable future for all.
