Climate Education Facilitator

Youth Climate Lab

The Climate Education Facilitator is an implementation and facilitation role. You will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating approximately 20 workshops in partnership with university groups across Canada. The aim of this project is to increase university students' literacy on the Sustainable Development Goals, climate action and climate policy in Canada. Before your role begins in January, the YCL team will be designing the two workshops and developing the required partnerships. Your role will be to finesse design based on partner’s interests, maintain partner relationships, and facilitate the workshops for students (18-30). You will be successful in this role if you are an experienced facilitator and have a passion for climate education!

Municipal Climate Intern

Environmental Leadership Canada

The Municipal Climate Internship (MCI) provides three young environmental leaders, age 18-30, with the opportunity to work and learn alongside municipalities in Southeastern Ontario that are invested in advancing local climate change solutions. This years’ host municipalities include: United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, Prince Edward County and City of Kawartha Lakes. Successful applicants to the program receive a six-month paid internship placement with a host municipality and take part in cohort-based leadership and professional development.

Through the MCI program, interns gain first-hand experience and knowledge in municipal climate issues, solutions, and local decision-making. Interns will be exposed to various municipal government and political processes and will become well-versed in how climate change is integrated into municipal planning. The knowledge, experience and professional skills gained will help prepare participants for careers as local climate leaders.​

Climate Change projects manager

First Nations Leadership Council (FNLC)

The First Nations Leadership Council (FNLC), a collaborative working partnership between the political executives of the BC Assembly of First Nations, First Nations Summit, and Union of BC Indian Chiefs), is seeking a full-time Project Manager for an 18-month contract to work collectively with the FNLC organizations and lead the implementation of the First Nations Climate Strategy and Action Plan (FNCSAP). The successful candidate will demonstrate experience working to advance Indigenous title and rights and First Nations-led climate action, while managing dynamic projects, in parallel with other initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a leading, member-driven Indigenous political advocacy organization. The position will work closely with the FNLC Climate Team and report to the UBCIC Policy Director

Working directly with the National Programs Manager, this person will coordinate a wide range of administrative responsibilities—from bookkeeping and finance, to grant reporting and fundraising logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the organization’s operational needs, including database development and management, event logistics, software integrations, development of contracts and agreements using templates, and all manner of bookkeeping and financial processes.

The ideal candidate must be highly adaptable and naturally predisposed to the timely and accurate completion of detailed tasks, and will also have a demonstrated commitment to and interest in protecting nature.
