Avery is an Associate in KPMG UK’s Climate Risk & Strategy practice, focusing on research, programme design and thought leadership, partnership and engagement strategy across ESG topics. Avery’s work and expertise sit at the intersections of climate change, gender equality and youth engagement, across the private and public sectors.   

Avery is an experienced researcher, having previously conducted research and convened a global multistakeholder working group with initiative Climat International (iCI) under the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, focused on implementing the Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosure recommendations for private markets firms. Avery has also conducted primary research on gender-based violence in Guyana, alongside UNICEF and the Guyanese Ministry of Education, and convened multistakeholder working groups on gender and climate with The Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society.    

Most recently, Avery served as a global Youth Envoy for KPMG at COP27 – responsible for storytelling the UNFCCC negotiation processes to internal audiences, writing and developing collaborative thought leadership content (blogs, podcasts) and bringing a critical youth lens to climate dialogues in international business. In her previous role, Avery created and convened Generation Climate - an award-winning, bespoke youth engagement initiative on behalf of The New York Times at COP26.   Avery has also served as a Youth Ambassador to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at Canadian parliament on topics of sexual and reproductive health and rights, is a Youth Advisor to Canadian Senator Marilou McPhedran and sits on the Canadian Council of Young Feminists / Conseil canadien de jeunes féministes.
