AUDREY CHAN
CONTENT CREATOR
Tio'tia:ke/ Mooniyang (Montréal)
As YCL’s Content Creator, Audrey leads the Green Pathways initiative. They also create digital assets and curate the monthly newsletter, connecting youth with the resources needed to take meaningful climate action.
Hailing from Hong Kong, Audrey is a Journalism graduate with a second degree in Cinema & Media Studies, both from the University of King’s College. In 2023, they co-directed Darlene and Truckhouse, a short documentary about a Mi'kmaw water protector, which screened at Lunenburg Doc Fest and World Water Film Festival.
With one foot in the documentary industry, Audrey is driven by communications work that explore the intersections of identity, social justice, and climate resilience. Their favourite projects provoke thought on the structures and relationships that shape our world.
In their spare time, Audrey is often found reading, hosting potluck parties, or indulging in movies so bad they’re good.
I am deeply grateful to be a settler living, learning, and working on the traditional and unceded territory known as Tiohtiá:ke to the Haudenosaunee and Mooniyang to the Anishinaabeg. Tio’tia:ke, in Kanien'keha, means "where the currents meet” – a name that reminds me of how we are all interconnected. My roots in Hong Kong, shaped by colonialism, remind me that none of us are free until all of us are free. As a settler, I stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities in the fight for climate justice and the return of land, sovereignty, and wisdom for future generations.
